Ms Gibson’s classes has implemented the Model Instructional Classroom technology with a review of digital citizenship using Puppet Pals on our Apple iPads and presenting through the Apple TV.

We are utilizing a Graphic Organizer for a Formative Asssessment to ensure students understand the central idea of the text. This assignment allows students to synthesize the key understandings of the lesson. The graphic organizer is designed for a single concept; however, the students were encouraged to use some of the Academic Vocabulary words from Unit #2 What Should We Learn, in their writing. The next step will be to form an argumentative thesis statement with claims using various quotes from the text. Generosity for Lighthouse Ministries overflows with LCMA math students. Algebra students are using the nutrition labels to determine which nutrients contribute most to calories. They are using technology to calculate the correlation coefficient to support their conclusions. Geometry students recently finished creating a city with an emphasis on the use of geometry in buildings and roads. Our 6th grade American History classes are learning about the differences between the Articles of Confederation and The Constitution. We are discussing how are government system was formed. In World History we are continuing are continuing our discussion about Ancient Greece and their influences on the world today. Lots of history being covered this week! J Civics students are busy analyzing documents and explaining how the Constitution guards against tyranny. They are making connections to prior knowledge and putting concepts into their own words! Ask them to tell you about the Constitution! 8th grade history classes are experiencing the constitutional convention by rewriting the Constitution LCMA style. 8th graders are working hard on their Memorial Projects in Ms Lavelle and Ms Davis.
