Civics students were working on real world problem solving from the perspective of 3 different types of good citizens! This is a bit of what's happening on campus when your child tells you they did nothing at school. :) Thanks again for sharing your children with us this week!
We can complain because rose bushes have thorns, or rejoice because thorn bushes have roses.”

― Ralph Waldo Emerson Dear Knight Families and Friends,
Welcome Back! We missed you! On behalf of LCMA’s faculty and staff, I hope you all had a super summer and are looking forward with enthusiasm to the 2017-18 school year. This year we have renewed our vow to be the top public middle school in the state! We believe we have the very best plans and programs in place, but we can do nothing without parent presence and assistance. Please be involved in your child’s education in every way possible. Communicate early and often with teachers and staff so we can remain focused on your most prized possession, your child! Incoming 6th graders: It’s normal to be nervous and excited! Middle school is a time of change. Mentally prepare for the workload and expectations to be greater than elementary school. Your next 3 years will be what you choose to make of them. Attitude is everything! Be positive, be respectful, work hard and anything is possible at LCMA and beyond! Upperclass students: you know the ropes! You have been amazing so far and the best is yet to come. Be helpful, kind, and encouraging to our new students and each other. LCMA will always be a part of your life. Your experience is what you make of it. Be the best YOU possible and be proud. Take pride in your school and yourself. Make LCMA a better place, every day, through your words and actions. I would also like to offer my sincere thanks and appreciation to our custodial staff. They worked diligently throughout the summer to clean and ready the school. Teachers and counselors have spent hours preparing materials, creating student schedules, creating student-centered classrooms, and reviewing data. The campus looks amazing! Secretaries and office staff have registered new students, put together information packets to be sent home with all students, and organized new materials. We all believe LCMA is a school community where people offer strength and support to each other. We are a community that strives to offer personal growth to all, a safe place to learn and discover, to work; to be. With Gratitude, Brian J. Andrews Principal |
