Good Friday Knights!
With the start of the 2nd semester, it appears as though the groundhog has predicted spring will come early this year...Students and teachers continue to work diligently in the classrooms each and every day....the All County Music performances were a success............Math Counts competition begins this weekend, the students have been putting in a lot of extra time with Mrs. DiGioia and we wish them luck.......We are proud to have our LCMA school community contribute to the District's Accreditation approval. We were selected to be observed by an accreditation team for the district process, and our students and teachers received the highest of praise and feedback at the end of the day. Very humbling and amazing!......A few classroom happenings....6th grade SS classes are learning about relative and absolute locations through riddles......7th grade Civics classes are working on a new unit "You Be the Judge", with a writing prompt including the question "Should schools be allowed to limit students' online speech".....Algebra students are exploring exponential functions while Geometry is analyzing the properties of polygons.....Mrs. Sitta's classes have been busy working on their energy machines.....Please take a look at the website for testing schedules and updates......Emerging Tech classes are learning to code with OzoBot robots.....Proud 8th graders students will be presenting their Community Projects to their advisors on Monday.. If you happen to bundle up tonight to enjoy “First Friday” downtown, stroll by Nathan’s to catch a preview of songs from “Peter Pan.” You might just meet the boy who refuses to grow up…and one certain villainous pirate!! Also, don't forget to go online and get your tickets to what is being billed as an unforgettable performance of Peter Pan (including several of LCMA's own) @ www.lakelandcommunitytheater.com.....
